A/Prof Sanjay Warrier Recognised at ‘In Her Corner’ Breast Cancer Event
On Friday, A/Prof Sanjay Warrier was honoured to present at the ‘In Her Corner’ breast cancer awareness luncheon, held at Doltone House and hosted by Aileen MacDonald OAM MLC. The event brought together leaders, advocates, clinicians, and supporters to spotlight advancements and advocacy in women’s health, with a strong focus on breast cancer care.
A/Prof Warrier, a breast cancer surgeon at Warrier Practice and the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, shared insights into the importance of early detection through breast screening, ongoing surgical training in Australia, and cutting-edge innovations in breast cancer surgery. With a room full of engaged attendees, the discussion highlighted how far breast cancer treatment has come—and how much further we must go in research and care.
“It was a privilege to be part of an event with such strong community commitment to advancing women’s health. It’s through shared knowledge, innovation, and collaboration that we continue to improve outcomes for patients,” said A/Prof Warrier.
Recognised for Contributions to Women’s Health
A/Prof Warrier was also presented with a Certificate of Commendation from the NSW Parliament’s Legislative Council – an honour recognising his ongoing work in breast cancer research, clinical innovation, and advocacy for women’s health.
“To be recognised by the NSW Parliament in this way is deeply humbling. I am incredibly grateful to all those involved and proud to continue working alongside so many talented and dedicated people in this field,” he said.
